New stock of Army Attack, Army War Heroes, Attack, Fightin' Army (with the acclaimed 'Lonely War of Willy Schultz'), Fightin' Marines, Marine War Heroes and War & Attack. Let Sam Glanzman, Pete Morisi and other combat veterans walk you through the minefield! *Western: Further shotgun shenanigans from Billy The Kid (several issues by the much-underestimated Warren Sattler), Black Fury (okay, he didn't use a gun, admittedly...), Outlaws of the West, Texas Rangers in Action and -- one non-Charlton -- an early DC Tomahawk! This time we've listed the content of dozens of issues of Creepy Worlds which we didn't have already listed. Creepy Worlds is arguably the most famous of the Alan Class titles and (together with Secrets of the Unknown -- #1s of each published in the same week), the longest-running. Watch for hundreds of issues from the Alan Class Private Collection to be on sale very soon! Posted by Rob | 09:41 p.m. GMT | 25 July 2005 British Update -- Annuals, Valiant & TV ActionSome nice and many scarce items added this week in the following categories: *Annuals: New additions to our range including popular titles Beano, the Broons, Oor Wullie, Topper (a very nice 1958), a rare Black Bob from 1959, Victor and Bunty, with a selection of esoterica such as Ripley's Believe It Or Not, Space Kingley and the first Young Marvelman annual. *Boys' Adventure & War Comics: Two major titles this week: a small selection of the hard-to-find TV Action & Countdown, with the adventures of Dr Who, Fireball XL5 and other TV super-stars, and a substantial run of Valiant from 1971 to 1973, averaging FN condition or better, and including the first Valiant & Smash and Valiant & TV21 amalgamated issues. Several issues are VF and even some NM copies, exceptionally rare in the UK comics field. Posted by Rob | 09:34 p.m. GMT | 25 July 2005 17 July 2005American update -- stunning collection of Golden Age DCs inc Superman #8!This week, we are privileged to present an unprecedented selection of Golden Age DC superhero titles in a wide range of grades. Titles featured include Action Comics, All American, All Star Comics (the legendary home of the JSA), squarebound Comics Cavalcade and World's Finest issues, Detective, Flash, Sensation and a tempting run of Superman beginning with a very nice VG- copy of #8. Featuring the work of Kubert, Peter, Siegel & Shuster, Binder, Fox, Finger and other classic creators, a trove of treasures like this all in one place is seldom seen in the UK. Many war-time issues -- ultra-scarce due to paper rationing and salvage -- are amongst the selection. Early enquiries are advised -- these issues began to sell as we were putting them on display in our shop and many of them will soon be winging their way into private collections. Full details as always in the DC Comics section of our online catalogue. Posted by Rob | 06:48 p.m. GMT | 17 July 2005 The Alan Class Private CollectionFollowing our previous announcements reagrading the Alan Class Private Collection, we are now pleased to announce the third selection from this publisher's file copies are now on sale exclusively from 30th Century Comics. Each item comes with a Certificate of Authenticity hand-signed individually by Alan Class himself, and constitutes a very rare opportunity to own a piece of comics history. Having presented the one-offs and short run titles, we now move on to the first of the 'Big 6' Alan Class series: Astounding Stories, available from the first issue through to the final (#195), with un-numbered and 'S' variants listed, presenting a cornucopia of classic characters and creators for your delight! Watch for Creepy Worlds coming soon! Posted by Rob | 06:40 p.m. GMT | 17 July 2005 British Update - Smash, Beano, Dandy, Beezer, June and other girls!Lots of new British stock this week in the following categories: *Power Comics: A new selection of the weekly anthology Smash, from 1966 when it was primarily comedy with Marvel adventure reprints, through to 1970, by which time it was a regualr adventure book, home of Janus Stark, Simon Test, Erik the Viking and the super-heroic Tri-Man! Always popular whatever metamorphosis it was going through, Smash issues usually sell very quickly, so early enquiries are advised. *Humour Comics & Picture Libraries: Substantial additions to two classic titles, Beano & Dandy, in very affordable grades, dates ranging from 1965 to 1970. These are becoming increasingly rare. Plus a clutch of late Beezers from the 1980s beginning with the first small format issue. *Girls' Comics & Picture Libraries: June is busting out all over! (Shame we didn't get this update done last month, really...) A lovely run of the popular girls' weekly June, ranging from 1961 to 1969, with the adventures of Vanessa of venus, Lucky's Living Doll, Bessie Bunter and scores more! Included are a few issues with the fiercely sought-after 'Girlhood of Emma Peel' strip. Plus small additions to our Debbie and Judy stocks and a solitary School Friend from 1963 - Silent Three fans, move fast! Included in this long run are multiple copies of the first three issues in a choice of grades. Because of the high adventure content and its status as a short achievable run, Sally, a superior girls' title, usually goes quickly, so get 'em while you can! Posted by Rob | 07:53 p.m. GMT | 3 July 2005 American Update - Harvey humour, Miracleman & more!A diversity of oddities this week as follows: *Harvey: high grade 'warehouse find' 1970s copies of Little Lotta, Hot Stuff, Playful Little Audrey, Sad Sack (& the Sarge), Wendy The Good Little Witch & others, averaging VF, many better. *Miscellaneous 1960-1980s: We have acquired an almost complete run (but for the elusive #15) of Alan Moore's redefinition of the super-hero: Miracleman, as well as the following Neil Gaiman issues and other spin-offs. Owing to a rights dispute, the series is unlikely to be reprinted soon, if ever, so here's a chance to get almost the whole of one of the best sequences ever published in comics. Also in this section, a couple of rare Harvey Kurtzman paperbacks from the 1960s. Posted by Rob | 07:42 p.m. GMT | 3 July 2005 Alan Class Rough Guide - Further UpdateOur Rough Guide to the content of Alan Class comics has now been newly enhanced by data on Astounding, taken from the Alan Class file copy collection.
